Trees are a valuable asset that is often overlooked. Evaluating the inventory of trees in your community can help you develop a strong cost assessment for maintenance to improve tree health and avoid liabilities from broken branches.

Adding dashboards to your community’s mapping arsenal makes visualizing trends in GIS data easier than ever before. R/M recently teamed up with Wachtel Tree Science to complete a tree inventory in the Village of Huntley, Illinois. On-site, Wachtel updated and modified the existing tree inventory while preserving old records. Once the inventory was complete, the data was updated in Huntley’s GIS system to reflect the new conditions of the trees.

To add another layer of depth to the data, R/M’s GIS team built a custom dashboard to display the location, value, and size of trees in the area. This interactive view helps users easily access inventory details by sorting the data into various descriptive categories.

Sort your dashboard by:

  • Region

  • Species

  • Height

  • Subdivision

  • Maintenance needs

Filtering results reflect what is displayed on the map so users can easily identify trends in the data. Acting in live time, when edits are performed to the data, they are immediately updated on the dashboard.

The dashboard offers the feature to display the tree value dependent on selected filters. This tool is extremely helpful when budgeting for new trees and maintaining existing trees. The same concept can be applied to a myriad of datasets to view trends and patterns in data that are supported by maps, qualities, and graphs.

  • Overall Cost Assessment

  • Current Health Status

  • Necessary Pruning

  • Necessary Treatments
