Economic Development Administration (EDA) Grant

Under the American Rescue Plan, EDA was allocated $3 billion in supplemental funding to assist communities nationwide in their efforts to build back better by accelerating the economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and building local economies that will be resilient to future economic shocks.

Previous allocations included the FY-2020 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Program.

Fund for Lake Michigan Grant Program

The Fund for Lake Michigan Grant Program supports organizations and communities committed to enhancing the Lake’s health through projects with both immediate and long-term benefits.

Application Deadline: Pre-proposals accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, grants decided quarterly.

Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership

The ORLP is a nationally competitive grant program funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The ORLP offers nationally competitive grants specifically to help create and improve state and locally-owned parks and other outdoor recreation areas in ways that will help the public to access or re-connect with the outdoors, particularly in city neighborhoods that lack parks and recreational opportunities.

Recreational Boating Facilities Grants

These grants may be used by counties, towns, cities, villages, tribes, sanitary districts, public inland lake protection and rehabilitation districts, and qualified lake associations for recreational boating facility projects.

Application Deadline: Anytime; Quarterly Funding Rewards

Recreational Trails Program

Municipal governments and incorporated organizations are eligible to receive reimbursement for development and maintenance of recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail uses.

Urban Forestry Grants

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offers urban forestry grants to cities, villages, towns, counties, tribes, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in or conducting projects in Wisconsin. These grants fall into three categories: regular grants, startup grants, and catastrophic storm grants.

Urban Green Space Program

The intent of the Urban Green Space Program (UGS) is to provide open natural space within or in proximity to urban areas; to protect from urban development areas within or in proximity to urban areas that have scenic, ecological, or other natural value; and to provide land for noncommercial gardening for the residents of an urbanized area.
